Alex Miller, Student Intern

Alex Miller is a pre-licensed student intern who is currently working towards her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Bradley University. She is under the supervision of Joanna Bloss, LMHC, LCPC. Her professional background is in applied behavior analysis. She worked as a registered behavior technician who helped implement individual therapy treatments with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder while under the supervision of a board-certified behavior analyst for the last five and a half years. She works with children, teens, and adults who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation and difficulty tolerating change. She views client experiences in therapy through a person-centered and multicultural lens and approaches concerns through Motivational Interviewing and DBT therapy while following the client’s lead in their goals and expectations for therapy. She is open to incorporating religious beliefs if the client desires.

She believes therapy to be successful when a client feels fully seen and fully heard without fear of rejection. She is looking forward to meeting with more clients as she continues her education and developing her therapeutic approach.
