Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana. She meets with older teens and adults who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and those in the military. She is trained in DBT and uses it, along with CBT. Being part of a military family herself, she brings a unique perspective to working with those in the military and veterans. Additionally, she is open to incorporating Christian beliefs if clients desire. Her clients have said that she is “very real,” empathetic, non-judgmental, and attempts to create a comfortable and safe space for them.

She considers therapy a success when the client places themself first and attempts to work on achievement goals despite immediate success and when the client expresses happiness and pride in who they are. She finds that gently guidance, providing motivation, and meeting clients where they are can help them as they are making attempts to meet their goals.

Education: Karen completed her master’s degree in social work at Indiana University Northwest.
